redundant fences

The redundant fence, have you heard of it? Redundant fencing is fence system where there is a fence within a fence. It gives Baltimore property owners the option to have a secondary fence on one side of a property or having it on all sides. The common choice is to have the redundant fence installed on a yard side where trouble can happen. What is trouble? Trouble may come in the form of a nosy neighbor, a high traffic street near by or other source where damage can result from ineffective fencing systems. Often in city neighborhoods there are certain property features which you have no right to alter so you must correct faulty security by other means. For example, you may want a redundant fence installation when you a neighbor owns a certain side of an existing fence or you have no permission to modify an existing fence because you are renting. By having the redundant fence, you can up property security without worrying about unnecessary expense. This is in beneficial to Baltimore dog owners because redundant fencing serves as a security measure for dog owners who have trouble with dogs trying to break through fencing with their heads or other physical means. You can even have the redundant fence designed stronger than the primary fence.

The key purpose of the redundant fence is to grant you more property security and safety for any living creatures or people within your property space. Some people may wonder why they may need a fence within a fence, but its pretty effective for dog trainers and those in need of a little extra security. In a way the redundant fence creates an airlock for your property. For example, you may use a redundant fence to keep your toddlers safe who are notoriously known for opening doors and escaping your property. With a well designed redundant fence, you can have the peace of mind that it will be more challenging for your toddlers to escape when they have not one but two gated areas to break through. The redundant fence can feature a locking gate to build up extra security for a front or backyard space. The fence will keep the kids safe and strangers out.

  2. Next, you need to identify the function of your fence. Here are common reasons people have a fence built:

The Benefits of Bench Fences

Friday, July 5th, 2013

Do you have a beach front home that needs to be protected from the ocean?

Hercules Fence can build you a fence.

The best fences to install on the beach are wrought iron. The posts of the fence can accommodate the sandy environment.

The fence installation should be completed on the perimeter of your beach front property for utmost security.

Some beach home owners prefer fence installation from the dunes to halfway the surf of the ocean.

You can estimate the length the fence will need to cover by locating the natural concrete boundaries hidden in the sand.

It is also important to identify where sand was taken from salt water and storms.

Many beach homes were damaged by Hurricane Irene because they did not have fences that protected them from water damage.

No beach front fence can be more than 6ft high when facing the street nor can it be more than 4ft high facing your neighbors property.

Even after your beach fence is built, it’s important to still use sand bags when storms are forecasted.

If you do not prefer a wrought iron fence, you can have a privacy fence or wooden fence installed for your beach property.

Wood fences are preferential sanding fencing as well as snow fencing.

Here are some of the many benefits beach fences can offer:

– Dune Erosion Prevention
-Coastline Preservation
– Vegetation Preservation
– Sand blowing prevention for highways
-Improve habitat ecology
-And more!

Benefits of a Privacy Fence

Friday, August 12th, 2011

Yes, privacy fences provide…privacy, but they also offer much more than that to a homeowner. As this insightful article on explains, there are many benefits to a privacy fence for your home:
1. Noise reduction. Privacy fences create a solid, or nearly solid, wall around your yard which will help deflect sound. If you live on a busy or noisy street, a privacy fence will provide some measure of quieting the din. If you already live in a relatively quiet area, you may find a solid fence will knock down the volume to almost nothing. You can’t cut out all noise, but choose a fence that has few gaps, such as a stockade style, and go for the tallest you can to get the most effective noise reduction.

2. Security. Any fence will provide a measure of security, but consider how thieves operate. They first scope out a location, looking for easy access and targeting a home that likely contains high-value items. If your property is surrounded by a privacy fence, they won’t have much luck in determining if your property contains anything worth stealing. And if they still decide to breach your property, a privacy fence is more difficult to climb over than a chain link fence.

3. Wind break. If you live in an open area with few other houses or trees around, you may find your outdoor belonging blowing around on windy days. A privacy fence can provide an excellent wind break and give you protection from strong gusts. It can be especially useful on chilly days or evenings when the wind would otherwise make it too uncomfortable to sit outside. Choosing a tall fence will provide the best wind breaking effects.

4. Beauty. A privacy fence will create a solid backdrop to your yard, blocking out views of your neighbor’s cluttered yard, or the parking lot behind your property, or the street littered with bits of garbage. Planting flowers or trees along the edge of a fence, such as a pure white vinyl fence or a beautiful, natural wooden fence, will lend a lot of beauty and serenity to your outdoor living space.

5. Investment. A privacy fence is a great investment in your property and will greatly help the resale value of your home, for all of the reasons given above. In addition, many families have pets and children, and any type of fence provides an extra degree of security and comfort for these families. Be sure to install fence latches high up, out of the reach of children. This will prevent them from leaving the safety of the backyard.

If you are considering installing a fence around your property, consider a privacy fence. There are many great companies out there that offer a wide array of options, including wooden, vinyl, bamboo and others in a vast array of prices. Even if you have an existing fence, you might be able to turn it into a privacy fence and gain all the benefits discussed above.

Doggy-safety: How to stop your dog from jumping the Fence

Thursday, July 28th, 2011

Are you a dog lover? Are you tired of your dog jumping the fence? Are your neighbors complaining? If your answer is yes to any or all of the above, we are here to help you keep your dog on the right side of the fence!

It is no secret for dog lovers that one of the biggest fears for a dog owner is to have his or her dog jump the fence. Dog owners fear their beloved and loyal companions will get hurt by leaping the fence, endangering its life, endangering another life, or worse run away from home! If you are not noticing the trend, most of the consequences of your dog jumping the fence are negative outcomes.

The purpose of a fence for a dog owner is to keep your dog safe, other pets out and to prevent your dog from escaping your property. Once a dog learns to jump one fence, it will learn to jump other fences.

The first method of keeping your dog safe and you out of legal trouble is to understand why your dog would want to jump your fence or any fence.

Look at your environment. What is internally in your fenced in environment? What is externally around your fenced in environment? If you were your dog, which one would you choose (be honest with yourself)?

Some likely reasons your dog might jump the fence may be based on loneliness from lack of companionship. Another reason would be another animal being outside the fence. It might want to chase or scare this animal. Your dog might also be attracted to the animal on the other side of the fence. Or your dog might be suffering from extreme boredom! Sometimes the act of jumping the fence can be exciting for your dog to do, if the fenced in area lacks fun for your dog.

If you are not certain at all why your dog would jump the fence, watch its behavior. Does it need something or is your fence too short?

If you think it is not your dog’s behavior but the size of your fence, Hercules Fence has a diverse selection of residential fencing for you and your pet – Ornamental Aluminum/ Steel, Galvanized chain link, custom wood and more! The higher your fence, the less likely your dog will jump over your fence! Read this article from Dog Obedience short cuts on how to make your dog more obedient and obtain information on the minimum fence height compatibility for the average-sized dog.

Another great suggestion for you is to make an enclosed dog run for your dog within your yard. Your dog will love its own dedicated space and you will love it more knowing your dog is out of harms way.

Effective Fences

Thursday, June 23rd, 2011

Fence design/style contributes greatly to the overall aesthetic value of your home or place of business. But for the most part, a fences’ appearance is secondary to its overall purpose. After all, most fences are not built as decorations, but rather for a more direct purpose such as security, privacy, to establish borders, or to keep animals in (or out).

This article from explains the various reasons (besides decoration) why people construct fences.

Privacy fences are used to wall off your yard (or part of your yard) from the rest of the world. They tend to be tall, yet still aesthetically pleasing.

The number one goal of a security fence is to keep intruders out of your yard or place of business. The most common form of this fencing is chain link with barbed wire, however there are more decorative styles of security fence with slightly more curb appeal. A high stone, brick or stucco wall provides a more decorative flair to your security needs. But these fences are still very formidable.

Keep Dogs in

If you have a dog or other pet, you know just how difficult it can sometimes be to keep them in the yard. One way to accomplish this is to install a fence. This will allow you to let your playful puppy run free without having to worry about him/her running away. This can be done with a short chain link fence or a more eye-catching PVC fence.

Keep Deer out

If you live in a suburban area with a high deer population, you know just how annoying it can be to have your fruit trees or vegetable garden constantly invaded. But you will need to make sure your fence is tall enough (at least 8 feet), because deer love to jump.

Whatever the reason, a fence can be a very nice addition to your home. Fences serve specific purposes while still adding to the overall aesthetic value of your home or business. What else can do all that? If you have any questions, contact Hercules Fence by calling (800) TU FENCE or click here today!

Place kabobs on greased grill over medium-high heat; close lid and grill, turning and basting chicken once with remaining honey marinade until fruit is softened and chicken is no longer pink inside, about 8 minutes.

Substitution: Use a small cantaloupe instead of the mangoes.
